A year ago, I decided to take a break. I choose my words carefully: this was never about abandoning psychic work, still less about turning my back on it. After nearly twenty years dedicated to this profession, I simply needed to take a step back. Clairvoyance and mediumship occupy a special place in my life: they are a real passion, but they are also a deeply demanding activity. Receiving someone, listening to them carefully, welcoming their questions, their emotions, sometimes their most personal worries, requires an availability that cannot be feigned. After years of consultations and thousands of encounters, I felt the need to find another rhythm, to catch my breath and take the time to think about what comes next.
This decision was not necessarily understood by everyone, and I fully understand that. Some clients may have been disappointed at no longer being able to consult me during this period. Some had their habits, others were waiting for an appointment or simply wished to get back in touch. I know that, for a few, this break may have seemed sudden. It probably was, but it was necessary. I have always believed that a consultation must be a true moment of presence and listening; I did not want to continue simply out of habit when I knew I needed to take a step back. I had to be able to return when I would be truly available, with the desire and energy that this profession deserves.
This year ultimately brought me a lot. It allowed me to distance myself from the daily routine of consultations, but also to look at my journey with a different eye. And over the months, I realised that what I was missing was not simply a professional activity. I missed the consultations, of course, but also the encounters, the exchanges, the intuition, the human stories and that very special relationship that is created when a person decides to grant you their trust. I realised that I did not need to give up this profession to protect myself; I simply needed to return with a different energy and a different outlook on the future.
Today, I feel ready to resume this path.
A new website for a new chapter
When I decided to return, I knew I did not simply want to put a website back online presenting my consultations. After a year-long break, it would have been too easy to act as if nothing had happened. The years had continued to move forward, my perspective had evolved, and so had my projects, and I wanted this new site to be a reflection of who I am today.
I chose to work with talented people to bring this world to life as I had imagined it. I wanted to pay special attention to every detail, because this site represents much more to me than a tool for booking appointments. It accompanies my return and constitutes the first contact with those who are going to discover or rediscover Karl Stephane. I therefore wanted the experience to reflect the care I had put into this return, both in its aesthetics and in the information offered and the way my work is presented.
Here you will find my background, my way of working, the consultations, the testimonials of people who have agreed to share their experience, as well as the information needed to contact my concierge service. The team handles all enquiries addressed to me, whether it is an appointment request, information, a professional enquiry or a media-related request. I also wanted this site to be able to host the different facets of my activity, because my journey is not limited to consultations.
There is clairvoyance, of course, but also writing, books, podcasts, encounters, projects and now this desire to speak out more.
Nearly twenty years of practice and thousands of clients
When I look back over the years, it is above all the encounters that come back to me. I have been fortunate enough to receive thousands of clients, and this diversity is probably one of the most rewarding aspects of my career. I have met people who came for very different reasons, with very different expectations and very personal ways of approaching a consultation. Some knew exactly what they wanted to ask me; others needed time before they could put into words what brought them to me.
I have welcomed well-known public figures, artists, professionals and people used to moving in high-profile circles. I have also received women and men outside the public eye, who came simply with their own story and their own questions. What they share is a wish to explore questions that matter to them. Some clients were particularly demanding, sometimes very precise in their expectations, and these exchanges forced me to always remain attentive and never to take my experience for granted. Others were much more reserved and taught me the importance of giving a consultation time to find its rhythm naturally.
This diversity has taught me enormously. In particular, it reminded me that there is no single way to receive someone. You do not address a person who arrives with a dozen prepared questions in the same way as one who does not really know where to start. You have to listen, observe, adapt and above all remain open enough not to decide in advance what you are going to hear.
Over the years, I have also understood that behind a question there is often a much broader story. A person may come to ask if a relationship will resume when what really worries them is knowing if they should still wait. Another may wonder about their professional future when they are already on the verge of a change they do not yet dare to embrace. It is this human dimension that has always interested me in clairvoyance and that continues to give meaning to my profession today.
Recognition along the way
My journey has been punctuated by different stages and different encounters. In 2018, I was notably lucky enough to be selected by the Guide de la Voyance, an important recognition in my professional history. I obviously keep this selection as a significant moment, because it recognised a body of work built over the years.
But looking back, I believe that experience is measured above all in other ways. It is built over time, in consultations, in exchanges and in the trust that is progressively established with the people you welcome. Professional recognition can mark a milestone, but it is the thousands of encounters that truly shape a career.
Some people have come back to consult me several times in their lives. Others have gotten back in touch after several years. Some have recommended me to their loved ones, others simply continued on their path after our meeting. Each of these relationships has contributed, in its own way, to building the professional I am today.
A passion that also requires knowing when to stop
During this year, I learned something that I probably already knew, but had never truly applied to myself: when a profession is a passion, you sometimes need to know how to step away from it temporarily to be able to continue practising it with care and clarity.
Psychic work asks a great deal of the practitioner. You must be able to welcome the emotions of others without carrying them with you, to remain focused when stories are complex and to maintain a quality of listening even after years of practice. It is not always simple. The person consulting must never feel like they are being received by someone operating mechanically or already thinking about the next consultation.
This year away therefore allowed me to regain a form of distance and to understand what I really needed. Above all, it confirmed to me that the passion was still there. When you voluntarily distance yourself from something and you end up missing that thing, it is probably because it still matters a lot.
This is the case with clairvoyance for me.
Words, books and another way of sharing
Consulting, however, has never been my only way of sharing my experience. Throughout my journey, I have also had the opportunity to develop my work as an author. Writing today occupies a special place in this new stage, because it allows me to share, in a different way, what years of practice have taught me.
A consultation is a direct, immediate and deeply personal exchange. Writing offers a different pace. It allows you to develop an idea, to revisit an experience, to choose your words and to give readers space to continue reflecting for themselves. I have been fortunate enough to share this experience with readers and to discover this special relationship that is created when a text you have written meets someone you do not know.
My work as an author naturally extends my desire to talk about this profession. It allows me to put into words reflections that do not always find their place in a consultation and to share experience accumulated over nearly twenty years.
Today, I want to continue writing, but also to speak out more.
Where I did not necessarily dare to go
For a long time, I kept a certain distance from worlds that I nevertheless know very well: radio, television, interviews, podcasts, sets and exchanges with journalists. Not out of fear of exposing myself, but because I know their conventions, their excesses and sometimes their failings well enough to not want to participate in what I consider to be a show that has too often become artificial and sometimes mediocre.
Today, after nearly twenty years of practice, thousands of consultations, experience as an author and this year of taking a step back, I feel ready to take this step. I want to talk about clairvoyance in my own words, to explain what a consultation really is, to talk about intuition and mediumship, but also to discuss the demands of this profession and all that is discovered when spending so many years listening to the stories of others.
I want to go where, even yesterday, I might have been afraid to go. Radio, television, podcasts, interviews and meetings with the media are now among the opportunities I now wish to explore. I am not trying to be everywhere and I do not feel the need to convince everyone. I simply want to speak out and share an experience that has become a real part of my history.
I also believe that clairvoyance deserves to be talked about in a different way. It intrigues, it fascinates, it raises questions and sometimes prejudices. I prefer to answer these questions rather than avoid them. After all these years, I feel comfortable enough with my path to be able to explain what I do, how I work and what this profession truly represents for me.
Why podcasts and Karl’s Journal?
That is what led me to create the podcast "Ce que l'on ne vous dit pas" and this journal. I wanted a space where we can take our time, away from the rush of short formats and ready-made answers. A place where I can develop a reflection, look back on an experience, relate a stage of my journey or simply share a look at a subject that interests me with a smile and sincerity.
I will obviously talk about clairvoyance and mediumship, but also about intuition, human relations, encounters, choices, life changes and all those situations that sometimes force us to look at our existence differently. I will be able to look back on certain professional experiences, talk about my work as an author, my projects and this new period that begins today.
Above all, I want Karl's Journal to have a real voice. I want it to be read for what it says and how it is written, and not simply as a commercial extension of the site. Some things will be personal, others more related to my profession, but all will have as a starting point an experience, a reflection or a question worth taking time to consider.
Obviously, the stories entrusted to me during consultations will remain confidential. They belong to the people who entrusted them to me. I will be able to talk about what these meetings have taught me, but never to the detriment of those who granted me their trust.
A new page
I therefore do not see this year away as an interruption to be erased from my story. It is part of it and, looking back, it was probably necessary. It allowed me to understand that one can deeply love one's profession, need to step away from it for a while and then return with an even stronger desire.
I return today with nearly twenty years of practice, thousands of clients met, demanding clients who pushed me to progress, a selection in the Guide de la Voyance in 2018, experience as an author and all that these years have built in me. I also return knowing that some may have been disappointed when I decided to press pause, and it is also for them that I am particularly happy to be able to reopen this door today.
Above all, I return with a renewed desire to share more. Through consultations, of course, but also through books, writing, podcasts, this new site and now this Journal. I want to talk about this profession which is a passion, to share what I have learned and to reach out to new audiences, whether through the press, radio, television, podcasts or simply a conversation.
To build this new stage, I wanted to surround myself with the best and take the time to create a site worthy of this return. I hope it will make you want to stay, discover my journey, follow my projects and return regularly to read the new pages of this journal.
After a year-long break, I do not feel the need to start over.
I prefer to continue. To continue a story begun nearly twenty years ago, with all that time has taught me and with this new desire to go further.
Welcome to my new site and to Karl's Journal.
Do not hesitate to discover this new site, which, I hope, will bring you as much pleasure to browse through as I had in imagining and designing it. Visit the homepage.
