A city facing the sea.
Nice is instantly recognisable by the curve of the Baie des Anges, but its character also lies in Old Nice, colourful façades and the Cours Saleya. Mediterranean, Alpine and Italian influences meet here, creating far more than the image of a seaside resort.
A walk might begin around the Promenades Anglais, Cours Saleya and Castle Hill. These landmarks are different, yet together they reveal the identity of Nice: a sense of place, architectural memory and everyday habits. Across the French Riviera, visitors and residents do not necessarily see the same things. The destination deserves more than a handful of familiar images.
